December 1st is internationally observed as “World AIDS Day”, and special events were organized worldwide to raise awareness about the AIDS pandemic. As we reported earlier, Japan planned a live event called “Kansha Matsuri THE VARIETY 18!” at the Nippon Budokan for their “Act Against AIDS (AAA) 2010” campaign his year.
A variety of actors and musicians made their appearances at the Nippon Budokan, including Porno Graffitti, FLOW, Perfume, Kishitani Goro, and Tsuruno Takeshi. Together, they performed a total of 27 songs at the event. Yet the highlight of the night for most was when Miura Haruma and Sato Takeru delivered covers of Kuwata Keisuke’s songs, “Shiroi Koibitotaci” and “Itoshi no Ellie“.
The AAA events were also held in Nagoya and in Osaka, and all the proceeds from the concerts will be donated to the AIDS awareness organization.
